The Palestine Solidarity Alliance of Hunter College is a non-bully apologist, non-hierarchical group of concerned Hunter College students with an aim to advocate for social justice and human rights for the Palestinian people and those under Israeli occupation. PSA of Hunter College believes that fundamental principles of justice and human rights direct solid steps that will be essential to a fair and effective resolution of the Israel-Palestine conflict. PSA organizes in support of the 2005 Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions call made by Palestinian civil society until Israel meets its obligation to recognize the Palestinian people's inalienable right to self-determination and fully complies with the precepts of international law by:
•Ending its occupation and colonization of all Arab lands and dismantling the Apartheid Wall;
•Recognizing the fundamental rights of the Palestinian citizens of Israel to full equality; and
•Respecting, protecting and promoting the rights of Palestinian refugees to return to their homes and properties as stipulated in UN resolution 194.
The Palestine Solidarity Alliance of Hunter College will administer cultural, civic, social, and educational events to spread awareness and advocate for the cause of the Palestinian people and those under Israeli occupation. This shall be achieved through educational activities and campaign building. PSA will hold events pertaining to the issues arising from the Zionist occupation. Events will include study groups, panels, film screenings, and discussion forums.
PSA will work on providing a safe space within its group by providing a platform for its members free from bullying, ableism, sexism, heterosexism, racism, and all kinds of discrimination. PSA rejects all actions that violate its guiding principles. All individuals or groups acting as members, representatives, or sponsors of PSA of Hunter College are required to adhere to its principles.
Our work will address and support topics which include:
(1) Raising increasing awareness within the Hunter College community regarding Israel’s violations of international law;
(2) Advocating for the BDS call.
While PSA works to end the racist Israeli regime of military occupation, apartheid, and colonization, we commit to an ethical position against all forms of racism, and other forms of oppression. PSA seeks to guarantee that our actions and the actions of those within our organization support an anti-racist perspective and do not perpetuate intolerance. Just as in heeding to the BDS call from Palestinians, we acknowledge that oppressed communities everywhere are best-placed to determine how to end their oppression.
