"What is the Gaza 5K walk/run?
The Gaza 5K walk/run is a fun family-friendly event with the aim of bringing members of the American community together to show solidarity with those suffering in Gaza. The event attracts people of all ages, runners, walkers and those passionate about Gaza.

What does the 5K support?
Proceeds from the Gaza 5K fund UNRWA’s Community Mental Health Programme (CMHP) to help empower vulnerable refugees in Gaza, especially children, to better cope with the extreme challenges they face on a daily basis. Through the program, UNRWA provides school counseling, group sessions, and even at home counseling for those in need who are unable to travel."

The Struggle at CUNY: Multi-Campaign Action Discussion

An even hosting student leaders whom will speak about various ongoing student-led campaigns on campus they are organizing for. What are students fighting for, and why should you become involved?
This event featured Rani Al-Hindi, co-founder of the Apartheid Divest CUNY campaign, John Aderounmu from the Campaign to Keep Student Fiscal Autonomy, as well as organizers from CRAASH (Campaign to Revitalize Asian-American Studies at Hunter).

Apartheid Divest CUNY Representatives:
Rani Al-Hindi is a proud Palestinian and a senior at Hunter College currently writing a thesis on the Palestinian right to return. He is the co-founder and former president of the Palestine Solidarity Alliance of Hunter College, as well as co-founder of the Apartheid Divest CUNY campaign.
CRAASH Representatives:
Sabrina Rich is a junior at Hunter College majoring in political science and sociology, with minors in Human Rights and Asian American Studies. She is currently president of the Coalition of the Revitalization of Asian American Studies at Hunter (CRAASH), a student organization that advocates for the establishment of an Asian American Studies department at Hunter. She is passionate about Asian American activism and holds a particular interest in the intersections of race, gender, and imperialism.

John Aderounmu is the Chairperson for the City University of New York (CUNY) University Student Senate (USS) and the only student member of the Board of Trustees of the City University of New York. As Chairperson of the University Student Senate, which is the leading student governance body of the university, Mr. Aderounmu is charged with working with student leaders from the twenty-five CUNY colleges and representing the interest of the nearly 500,000 students at CUNY.
